A Beginner's Guide to Juicing Fruits and Vegetables

Because you are consuming fruits and vegetables in liquid form, the nutrients they contain go straight into your bloodstream - these essential vitamins and minerals are then distributed to where they are needed in the body right away, so you will be able to reap the benefits of healthy eating much faster. Juicing has proven to be an effective weight loss method, but you will also gain more energy and maintain optimum health as you go through the process.
If you're interested to join the juicing bandwagon but don't know where to start, here is a simple beginner's guide to juicing:
How often do I want to juice?
Although most people go through a juice fast to lose weight, others drink their juices to detox, to gain more energy or to simply start eating healthy. The first important step in the process is to determine your reason for juicing. Do you want to juice just once in a while? Do you want to complete a juice fast? Knowing how often you will be juicing will help you plan ahead - how much budget to prepare, your schedule, juicing recipes and the like.
What type of juicer do I need to buy?
There are hundreds of different models out in the market today, but like what is mentioned earlier, the machine you'll need depends on how often you will be using it. There are two main types - the Centrifugal and the Masticating (cold press) Juicer. The Centrifugal type is the most basic and the cheapest among all. It works fast but produces a less-quality juice. On the other hand, the Masticating type which is more expensive works slower but produces good-quality juice.
Keep in mind that there is no "best juicer" out there - there is only the ideal one for you that will meet your personal needs.
Which fruits and vegetables are ideal to use for beginners?
One great thing about juicing is that it gives you the freedom to choose which fruits and vegetables to combine to produce a delicious juice. You can basically use any type of produce you want, but experts recommend that you begin with easily available fruits and vegetables such as apples, berries, bananas, oranges, spinach, kale, carrots etc. and make basic recipes to help you familiarize yourself with the method. Once you've got the hang of it, you can incorporate more exotic produce to your juices. It is also recommended that as much as possible; go for organic fruits and vegetables to avoid harmful toxins that are usually found in produce that have been grown traditionally.
So whether you're looking to lose those extra pounds, to eliminate toxins or simply enjoy a nutritious meal, you can never go wrong with juicing.
